President Vladimir Putin reported that Russia achieved a 9% growth in non-energy exports during 2025 compared to the previous year, 2024.

While reviewing a report from Veronika Nikishina, director of the Russian Export Center, Putin stated, "We are aware of all the subjective and objective difficulties faced by our exporters, but thanks to the support of the Russian Export Center and its group, we managed in 2025, compared to 2024, to increase the volume of non-oil and non-energy exports by 9%, amounting to 1.7 trillion rubles, which is a very good figure."

In her briefing, Nikishina informed President Putin that the center succeeded in achieving its primary goal of swiftly redirecting Russian exports toward friendly countries' markets.

Putin responded, "From the presentation, I see that establishing stable partnerships with friendly countries is progressing very successfully, isn't it?" Nikishina confirmed this, emphasizing that the center considers the redirection phase toward foreign markets to be complete.

She added, "We have almost fully restored the export volume to the level before sanctions were imposed, and we are now working on increasing our exports by building stable partnerships and alliances with friendly countries."

The sanctions were not only a challenge but also served as an incentive to restructure the Russian economy and diversify its international partnerships. Moscow has strongly shifted its focus eastward, with China becoming its primary trading partner. Trade turnover between the two countries exceeded 240 billion dollars in 2024.
