The emergence of AI football fans like Parker is part of a growing trend as technology advances. For example, La Liga has introduced its own AI influencer, and a recent phenomenon involved attractive women being digitally inserted into stadium stands.
This trend originated in South Korea, where a video titled “The average Korean woman” went viral on platform X. It showed a woman in the stands during a Korea Baseball Organisation game between the Hanwha Eagles and Doosan Bears, amassing 15 million views in days.
However, the video contained inaccuracies, such as a scoreboard naming Kim Seo-hyeon as the pitcher and Jo In-seong as the batter, despite Jo having retired in 2017 and never playing for the Doosan Bears before becoming their coach.
The trend has since spread globally, with figures like Ivana Knoll, dubbed the 'World Cup’s sexiest fan,' participating despite her already notable real-life popularity.
Still, human fans have outshone AI creations, with TikToker Leah Halton receiving praise as "winning the trend" among supporters.
