Reports indicate Barcelona prioritizes Tottenham's Pedro Porro, citing Lamine Yamal's endorsement and squad restructuring needs.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro has emerged as a primary transfer objective for Barcelona, according to Spanish outlet Sport. The Catalan club views the full-back’s potential move as a priority for upcoming windows, driven by reports that the player desires a return to Spain despite his contract extending through June 2031.
The pursuit of Porro aligns with earlier coverage from El Nacional last August, which suggested Lamine Yamal identified the Spaniard as an ideal addition. Yamal reportedly ranked Porro above midfielders Rodri and Julian Alvarez in his personal preference list for new signings.
During Spain’s recent World Cup victory, the young forward developed a strong tactical connection with Porro. He appreciated the defender’s ability to interpret movement patterns, whether advancing down the right flank, shifting centrally, or dropping deep to facilitate build-up play.
For Yamal, such attributes create greater operational space and reduce defensive pressure. Porro’s positioning generates numerical superiority and provides consistent offensive support, characteristics that fit Barcelona’s attacking framework.
Executing this transfer requires internal adjustments before significant financial outlays. The board intends to resolve existing squad matters prior to investing heavily in defensive reinforcements. Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde are central to these calculations.
A departure by Kounde would vacate the right-back position, creating room for Porro. Conversely, selling Balde could generate necessary funds, though this necessitates reshuffling other defensive options. Hansi Flick also sees value in Porro’s profile, noting that while Kounde offers defensive solidity, he lacks the same offensive threat.
Tottenham presents the most significant barrier. Having extended Porro’s deal until 2031, the London club faces no immediate contractual pressure to sell a key asset. Consequently, Barcelona may need to submit a substantial bid to alter their stance.
No formal offer has been submitted yet, per Sport. The club continues monitoring Porro’s situation while evaluating alternatives, including Sporting Lisbon’s Ivan Fresneda.
