The friendly football match between Denmark and Ukraine was halted on Sunday evening after Danish national team player Christian Eriksen suddenly collapsed on the pitch.

The referee blew the whistle to stop the game after 66 minutes of play.

Danish media reported that Eriksen fell unconscious unexpectedly, causing alarm among players from both teams before the match was canceled and Eriksen was transported to the hospital.

Broadcasting of the match was interrupted following Eriksen's collapse, fueling speculation about the incident on the field.

The Danish Football Association stated, as reported by The Athletic, that Eriksen regained consciousness.

This incident recalled the well-known moment when Eriksen collapsed during Denmark's match against Finland at the 2021 European Championship.

At that time, Eriksen suffered a sudden cardiac arrest on the pitch and was revived by the medical team using a defibrillator.

Currently, Eriksen plays for the German club Wolfsburg, following a lengthy career in European football that included spells at Manchester United and Tottenham in the English Premier League, Ajax in the Netherlands, and Inter Milan in Italy.
