Diomandé Joins Real Madrid for €125m, Setting African and Club Records
Real Madrid signed 19-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig for a guaranteed €125 million, surpassing Jude Bellingham’s €103m fee and establishing new benchmarks for African players and the club’s transfer history.

A guaranteed €125 million has been paid by Real Madrid to secure the services of 19-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig, shattering the club’s previous transfer record.
The deal follows weeks of negotiations between the two clubs and includes an additional €15 million in potential performance-related bonuses.
Diomandé is now both the most expensive African player in football history and Real Madrid’s costliest signing, overtaking the €103 million spent on Jude Bellingham.
He has committed to a contract running through the summer of 2031 at the Santiago Bernabéu.
RB Leipzig stands to realize a substantial profit, having activated Diomandé’s €20 million release clause to acquire him from Leganés last summer.
During his sole season with the Bundesliga side, Diomandé scored 12 goals and provided nine assists.
