Hull City has started shaping its preparations for the upcoming Premier League season by adopting a new approach compared to previous years. The team, known as the "Tigers," will hold a training camp in Slovenia, taking advantage of a warm climate.

According to Hull Life, a publication close to the club, the preparations come as Hull City returns to the Premier League spotlight. The club secured promotion last week at Wembley Stadium thanks to Oliver McBurnie's decisive goal in the 95th minute against Middlesbrough.

Hull City is set to embark on its first Premier League campaign in a decade. The team has adjusted its training schedule because the Premier League season starts one week after the Championship season. Therefore, players will spend their first week back at the club's Cottingham base starting July 13.

As part of their pre-season program, coach Sergej Jakirović's squad will spend nine days along the scenic Drava River in Maribor, Slovenia. However, they are unlikely to face the local club there, which is owned by Hull City's chairman, Acun Ilıcalı, due to the early start of the Slovenian club's season.

Following Slovenia, Hull City is expected to travel directly to Istanbul for a three-day stay in Turkey. During this period, they will play a friendly match against a Turkish Süper Lig team. There had been hopes for a third meeting with Fenerbahçe, but scheduling conflicts with the Turkish club's Champions League qualifiers make this unlikely given Hull City's Premier League calendar.

Hull City aims to announce soon the details regarding fan attendance for the Turkey match. Corendon Airlines is organizing a dedicated travel package for supporters.

It was reported that Hull City received an invitation to the United States for two friendly matches, but coach Jakirović preferred to decline and instead insisted on holding the training camp in Slovenia.

After spending their first post-acquisition summer camp in Marbella, Spain, following Acun Ilıcalı's takeover in January 2022, the "Tigers" have spent the last three summers training in Riva, near the Turkish Football Federation headquarters outside Istanbul. However, they do not plan to base themselves there this time.

Work is ongoing to finalize the local friendly match schedule for Hull City after their promotion, with announcements expected in due course. The team will learn their full Premier League fixture list and opponents on June 19.

Separately, Hull Life confirmed that the club is seeking to build a new state-of-the-art training facility to integrate the club’s academy, following their elevation to the Premier League. The club received a $275 million reward for their promotion.
