Real Madrid prepares a €150 million bid for Paris Saint-Germain's João Neves, fulfilling Mourinho's initial request to strengthen the midfield.

Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, is set to announce a major €150 million offer on Tuesday to acquire a global football star, aiming to restore the club's dominance in European football after two trophyless seasons.
Journalist Thomas Guasch reported in the Spanish newspaper "El Debate" that Paris Saint-Germain's João Neves is Real Madrid's primary target, following a request from José Mourinho, the team's new head coach, to sign the Portuguese midfielder.
Pérez's promise to be fulfilled today
Last Thursday, Pérez stated on the program "Horizonte" that Tuesday would see the announcement of a significant signing, describing it as a crucial step to strengthen the squad.
He also mentioned that the targeted player does not compete in the English Premier League, thereby excluding names like Enzo Fernández of Chelsea.
Neves emerges as the leading candidate for Bernabéu
According to Guasch, João Neves is at the top of Real Madrid's priority list, particularly because Mourinho wants the Portuguese player to reinforce the midfield.
Neves, aged 22, currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain and, alongside Vitinha, is one of the key players in Luis Enrique's lineup.
Although it is difficult to imagine Paris Saint-Germain agreeing to release their star player at this stage, Pérez appears ready to increase the offer, confident that any player would be eager to wear the white jersey.
Moreover, the president is determined to meet Mourinho's demands, who is expected to be officially announced as Real Madrid's new coach in the coming hours.
Midfield reinforcement remains an urgent priority
Real Madrid's management recognizes that one of their main objectives for the upcoming season is to strengthen the midfield, especially following Toni Kroos's departure.
Efforts to compensate for the absence of the German midfielder have not yielded the expected results, largely due to some players not meeting performance expectations.
Therefore, João Neves is seen as the solution to fulfill the midfield reinforcement needs, and it is likely that Pérez alluded to him in his recent statements.
