Manchester United has reached an agreement to acquire Andrey Santos from Chelsea for an initial £48 million plus add-ons, with the player seeking more playing time.

Manchester United has finalized terms to bring Andrey Santos to Old Trafford for an initial fee of £48 million, with an additional £2 million in potential add-ons. The Brazilian midfielder has agreed to personal terms and is scheduled for a medical examination before the transfer is completed.
The midfielder's decision to leave Chelsea comes after limited playing opportunities during the 2025/26 season. Following his return from a loan at Strasbourg, Santos started only 13 Premier League matches, prompting him to request a transfer.
Interest from Manchester United offered Santos an appealing prospect for advancing his career, leading to the agreement between the clubs. Santos will be joined at Manchester United by his Brazil teammate Ederson, who is undergoing a medical ahead of his £35 million transfer from Atalanta.
These new signings aim to strengthen Manchester United’s midfield options, especially after Manuel Ugarte suffered a knee injury and Casemiro departed the club as a free agent.
