Mohamed Salah Reunites with Alisson and Fabinho After Egypt-Brazil Friendly
Mohamed Salah met with Liverpool teammates Alisson and Fabinho following Egypt's 2-1 friendly loss to Brazil ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
After the friendly match between Egypt and Brazil, Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, former Liverpool player and captain of the Egypt national team, met with his Brazilian teammates Alisson Becker, Liverpool’s current goalkeeper, and Fabinho, midfielder for Al-Ittihad. The match took place early Sunday and ended with Brazil securing a 2-1 victory as both sides prepare for the 2026 World Cup finals.
Salah took the opportunity to capture a photo alongside Alisson Becker and Fabinho, evoking memories of Liverpool’s golden generation that won the English Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Egypt faced Brazil in a friendly match held at Huntington Park in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, serving as their final rehearsal before the 2026 World Cup. The Egyptian team lost 2-1 to Brazil.
Brazil took the lead early with Bruno Guimarães scoring in the 8th minute. Egypt equalized through Zizo in the 12th minute. In the 52nd minute, Hendrick da Souza scored Brazil’s second goal.
Brazil made a forced substitution in the 18th minute when right-back Wesley left due to injury, replaced by Danilo. Egypt’s goalkeeper Mustafa Shobier saved a clear chance from Vinícius Júnior in the 26th minute, while Yasser Ibrahim blocked another certain goal in the 42nd minute, keeping the score tied at 1-1 going into halftime.
At the start of the second half, Egypt’s coach Hossam Hassan brought Mohamed Salah on for Haitham Hassan and Mohamed Abdel Monem replaced Trezeguet. In the 52nd minute, Hendrick scored Brazil’s second goal from a powerful cross inside the penalty area by Andrik, which found the net behind Egypt’s defense.
Salah and Omar Marmoush attempted to equalize with shots on goal and passes aiming to break through Brazil’s defense.
In the 75th minute, Hossam Hassan made three substitutions, bringing on Tarek Alaa, Imam Ashour, and Karim Hafez in place of Mohamed Hany, Ahmed Fattouh, Muhannad Lashin, and Zizo.
Later, in the 85th minute, Zizo and Hamza Abdel Karim replaced Marwan Atiya and Omar Marmoush in a final effort to level the score.
