Newcastle Set £100 Million Price for Midfielder Sandro Tonali

Newcastle United will only consider selling midfielder Sandro Tonali this summer if they receive bids exceeding £100 million.

The club initially paid approximately £61 million to acquire Tonali from AC Milan and now aims to secure a substantial profit on the Italy international.

Manager Eddie Howe has praised Tonali, expressing admiration for the player’s performances, but Newcastle’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has increased the likelihood of his departure.

Several clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur, are reportedly interested in signing Tonali, with Spurs engaging in talks with the player’s representatives despite no direct contact with Newcastle yet.

Although Tonali remains an important figure in Newcastle’s plans, speculation about his future is intensifying ahead of the transfer window.

New Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly keen on acquiring Tonali, but any offer would require a significant financial outlay.

Tonali is contracted with Newcastle until 2029, having signed an extension earlier this year that includes an option for an additional season.

Last season, Tonali appeared in 53 matches across all competitions, contributing three goals and seven assists as Newcastle finished in the lower half of the Premier League table.

Following the sale of Anthony Gordon to Barcelona, Tonali could be the next player to leave St. James’ Park, with Joe Willock and Valentino Livramento also attracting transfer interest.
