Tonali vows eternal loyalty to Milan amid Spurs progress

"AC Milan will always be the club closest to my heart, no matter how much time passes. Even in 20 years' time, I'll continue to follow them whenever my commitments allow, because this feeling will never change." Sandro Tonali delivered this pledge to Sky Sport on October 24, 2026, emphasizing that distance and elapsed years have not diminished his connection to his former team.

Enduring bond with Rossoneri

The Brescia-born midfielder reflected on his current tenure at Tottenham before pivoting to the institution he holds dearest. He confirmed that he intends to keep following Milan’s fortunes for the long term, regardless of his professional obligations elsewhere. This statement underscores a personal commitment that transcends his active playing career.

Tottenham’s tactical evolution

Tonali also addressed the squad’s performance during the first part of the season, specifically referencing Monday’s victory over Coventry. He described the win as a "conclusion" to that initial phase, noting that the team is making continuous progress. The Italian emphasized the need to focus on positives rather than dwelling on their early-season start.

According to Tonali, the performances have been excellent, and there is a strong collective care for manager Roberto De Zerbi. He stated that De Zerbi "suffers more than anyone here at Tottenham," highlighting the emotional investment within the dressing room. The midfielder acknowledged that the team has achieved nothing yet and must give significant effort to their coach.

Tonali observed that since last week, the group has become "much more of a team." He stressed that they must not stop this momentum. Looking ahead, he noted an upcoming away match against a tough opponent, calling for positivity and adherence to their own style of play.
