Neymar to Miss Egypt Friendly as Brazil Regains Six Key Players
Neymar will not participate in Brazil's upcoming friendly against Egypt, while six key Brazilian players return for the match.

The Brazilian Football Confederation has officially confirmed that Neymar da Silva will be absent from the upcoming friendly match against Egypt due to ongoing treatment and rehabilitation following a recent injury.
In an official statement, the Brazilian federation clarified that Neymar will not travel with the national team delegation to Cleveland, USA. Instead, he will remain in New Jersey to continue his physical therapy sessions and intensive rehabilitation under the supervision of the Brazilian national team's medical staff.
The statement read: "Player Neymar will not travel with the Brazilian national team delegation to Cleveland and will continue his physical therapy and intensive rehabilitation program in New Jersey until he is fully fit."
Meanwhile, the Brazilian squad received a significant boost ahead of their encounter with Egypt by regaining six of their key players who were absent from the previous friendly against Panama, which Brazil won 6-2.
Egypt, led by coach Hossam Hassan, is scheduled to face Brazil in the early hours of Sunday, June 7, as part of both teams' preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
The Brazilian camp welcomed back a notable group of six players who had recently completed their commitments with their European clubs. This group includes Arsenal’s trio of Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus, along with Paris Saint-Germain’s trio of Marquinhos, Lucas Bernado, and Gabriel Moscardo.
The Brazilian coaching staff aims to leverage the return of these six players to compensate for Neymar’s absence ahead of the highly anticipated friendly against Egypt, which stands out as one of the most prominent matches during the current international break.
The friendly between Egypt and Brazil is set to kick off at 1:00 AM Cairo time on Sunday, June 7, in the state of Ohio, USA. The match will be held during Egypt’s closed training camp as part of their final preparation plan before the World Cup begins.
