PSG End Ligue 1 Season With Capital Derby Defeat
Paris Saint-Germain fell 2-1 to Paris FC in the final match of the Ligue 1 season, with a late brace from Alimami Gory overturning Bradley Barcola's opener.
Paris Saint-Germain closed out their Ligue 1 campaign with a 2-1 loss to city rivals Paris FC on Sunday evening. The match, which served as the season's finale, saw the visitors take the lead before a dramatic late turnaround handed the hosts all three points.
The first half ended goalless, with neither side able to break the deadlock before the interval. PSG finally struck in the 49th minute when Bradley Barcola found the net to put the defending champions ahead. Paris FC responded through Alimami Gory, who leveled the score in the 75th minute before completing his brace with a stoppage-time winner in the 93rd minute.
Manager Luis Enrique fielded a lineup featuring Matvey Safonov in goal, protected by a back four of Lucas Beraldo, Marquinhos, Milan Skriniar, and Nuno Mendes. The midfield trio consisted of Warren Zaïre-Emery, Fabian Ruiz, and Vitinha, while the attacking line included Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Despite the defeat, PSG finished the season as Ligue 1 champions with 76 points, six clear of second-placed Lens. Paris FC ended the campaign in 11th place with 44 points.
