Nico Raskin, the Rangers midfielder, has expressed his desire to depart Ibrox this summer to advance his career, with a transfer to replace a player moving to Manchester United emerging as a leading option.

The 25-year-old Belgium international is currently competing in the 2026 World Cup in America and aims to challenge himself at a higher level following a notable period at Rangers, where he has become a key performer.

Since signing from Standard Liège in January 2023 for £1.5 million, Raskin has made 145 appearances for Rangers. Known for his versatility, energy, and technical skill, he has played a crucial role in central midfield, contributing significantly to the team's progress.

His performances have attracted attention across Europe, and he remains an important member of the Belgium national team, having delivered several impressive displays.

Over the past month, Italian club Atalanta has contacted Raskin’s representatives and is actively pursuing a potential transfer. The Bergamo-based side sees him as a strong candidate to strengthen their midfield under new manager Maurizio Sarri, especially after selling Ederson to Manchester United for £38.4 million (€45 million, $51 million).

Atalanta is among several clubs closely monitoring Raskin’s situation, with increasing interest also coming from the Premier League.

Premier League and European Clubs Monitor Raskin's Availability

Although Rangers have yet to receive formal offers for the 14-cap midfielder, sources confirm that Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Leeds United, Aston Villa, and Brighton have scouted Raskin over the last 18 months.

European clubs such as Porto, Real Betis, and Besiktas have also shown interest and made previous inquiries regarding the player.

Rangers reportedly value Raskin at around £20 million (€23 million, $27 million) and intend to maximize any transfer fee obtained from his departure.

With a contract extending until 2028, Rangers hold a strong position in negotiations. However, supporters seem prepared for the likely loss of one of their key players and hope the club can secure a substantial sum to support new signings.

Raskin’s recent substitute appearance for Belgium, where he impressed during a 1-1 draw against Egypt, is expected to boost his market profile, increase his valuation, and potentially attract further interest before the transfer window fully opens. While no official bids have been submitted yet, speculation is growing, and Rangers anticipate receiving offers this summer.

The possible sale of Raskin represents a significant on-field loss for Rangers but also offers an opportunity to generate essential funds for new manager Derek McInnes as he works to strengthen the squad in the upcoming season.
