Ronaldo to Miss Al-Nassr’s Season Opener Amid Wedding Break
Al-Nassr begins its Saudi Pro League title defense without Cristiano Ronaldo, who is on an extended break following Portugal’s 2026 World Cup campaign and has used the time to marry Georgina Rodriguez.

Al-Nassr is set to launch its campaign to defend the Saudi Pro League’s Roshn League title.
The club will begin the new season without its captain and star player, Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Al-Nassr opens its league campaign against Al-Fateh on Saturday in the tournament’s opening round. Three days later, it faces Al-Diraiyah in the Round of 32 of the King Salman Cup — both matches scheduled for Riyadh.
According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah, Ronaldo’s absence follows an additional leave granted after his participation with the Portuguese national team at the 2026 World Cup, preventing him from joining the team’s pre-season preparation program.
Ronaldo used the break to finalize his marriage to Argentine model Georgina Rodriguez and is expected to rejoin the squad’s training sessions upon completion of his leave.
