17,223 Field Inspections and 836 Violation Reports Since Beginning of Year
The Directorate of Consumer Protection reported 17,223 field inspections and 836 violation reports since the start of the year across Lebanon, with a significant increase in consumer complaints via digital platforms.

The Directorate of Consumer Protection at the Ministry of Economy and Trade announced it has "conducted 17,223 field inspections since the beginning of the year up to September 18, as part of its monitoring campaigns across all Lebanese territories."
In its latest report, it stated that "during the same period and in coordination with security and judicial authorities, it issued 836 violation reports against offenders, under 20 types of regulatory activities including commodity prices, consumer goods safety, and others, along with 463 reports specifically targeting private generators alone."
The ministry noted it "received 1,678 consumer complaints during the same period, reflecting growing public engagement in reporting through the Ministry of Economy and Trade's electronic platform, MoET Digital Services. In just one week, from September 14 to 18, the Directorate of Consumer Protection responded to 180 consumer complaints and conducted 555 field inspections, resulting in 50 violation reports against offenders."
It reiterated its call "to citizens and consumers to file complaints regarding any violations they observe, either through its electronic application (MoET Digital Services), or via the hotline of the Lebanese Consumers Association (01750650)."
