After Their Arrest in Baalbek: Prosecution of Bashar al-Assad's Cousin and Ali Nouh Zaytar

Al-Jadeed reported that military investigating judge Wael Al-Hassan has scheduled a session on October 8 next to hear testimony from Sulaiman Hilal al-Assad, cousin of Bashar al-Assad, and Ali Nouh Zaytar. They will be questioned regarding the case of possessing a weapon and a bomb seized with them in Baalbek without a license.

According to Al-Jadeed information, Bekaa Prosecutor Judge Marcel Haddad also filed charges against them and referred them to the First Investigating Judge in Bekaa, pending the scheduling of a session for the drug file.

Earlier, Al-Jadeed reported the arrest of Sulaiman Hilal al-Assad and Ali Nouh Zaytar in the Ras Al-Ayn area of Baalbek.

According to a security source, Sulaiman Hilal al-Assad confessed during interrogation that he owned a bomb and a Kalashnikov rifle, both of which were found inside the car he was traveling in with Ali Nouh Zaytar at the time of their arrest.
