After warnings... a decision by the Municipality of Maghdousheh not to receive new displaced persons
The Municipality of Maghdousheh announced a decision not to receive any new displaced persons in schools or homes until further notice, citing exceeded capacity and security warnings.

The Municipality of Maghdousheh affirmed in a statement, "adherence to the Lebanese state and its legitimate institutions, and concern for maintaining security, stability, and civil peace, in light of the security developments and warnings received, and based on our responsibility to protect the town and its people."
It said: "Due to the number of incoming displaced persons exceeding the town's absorptive capacity, the municipal council decided not to receive any new displaced persons in schools or homes until further notice. The municipality also calls on resident displaced persons to comply with instructions issued by the municipality and competent authorities and not to receive any new arrivals or visitors from outside the town, with emphasis on the necessity of adhering to these measures for the public interest and the safety of all, given the emerging circumstances."
It added: "The municipal council, headed by its members, appreciates the concern of the security institutions and their efforts and calls on them to take all necessary measures to follow up on the received threats, and to enhance monitoring, inspection, and verification procedures regarding any data that may threaten the security of the town, in a way that ensures the protection of citizens and residents and maintains stability."
It concluded: "Finally, the municipality affirms that the safety of the displaced is part of the safety of the people of Maghdousheh, calling on everyone to act responsibly and cooperate with the official authorities for the benefit of the town and all its residents."
