Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Al-Hajjar held a meeting in his office before noon today to discuss traffic conditions in the city of Beirut, in the presence of Director General of the Internal Security Forces Major General Raed Abdullah, Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Abboud, Commander of the Beirut Police Unit in the Internal Security Forces Brigadier General Imad Al-Jamal, Commander of the Beirut City Guard Regiment Brigadier General Abbas Al-Husseini, Head of the Traffic Division in the Internal Security Forces Brigadier General Robert Rahal, and Commander of the Beirut Traffic Company in the Beirut Police Unit Colonel Fouad Ramadan.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Hajjar stressed the necessity of taking firm measures to control violations that cause chaos and disrupt public order, and gave the necessary directives to implement the content of the letter issued by the ministry regarding seriously enhancing measures to suppress motorcycle violations in the city of Beirut, in cooperation and coordination between the Beirut Police Unit in the Internal Security Forces and the Beirut City Guard Regiment.
Minister Al-Hajjar was briefed on the action plan, which will primarily focus on sustainably suppressing motorcycle violations, especially those related to appearances and behaviors that undermine security, public order, and public safety, affirming that the ministry will accompany the implementation of these measures with diligent and continuous follow-up to preserve the security and safety of citizens.
