Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmad Hajjar stated that "the security situation in Lebanon is being portrayed as completely out of control, but facts indicate otherwise, and exaggerating information means the goal lies elsewhere."

In a press conference at the Halou Barracks, he pointed to "the efforts of the Internal Security Forces in recent weeks to prevent pickpocketing operations," clarifying that he "understands people's cries, and we are monitoring complaints around the clock in the operations room."

Hajjar noted that "since the beginning of this month, 8 pickpocketing operations and 4 robbery operations have been recorded across all Lebanese territories," explaining that "pickpocketing operations have decreased significantly, while robbery operations have increased," stressing that "we will not allow anyone to undermine trust in the state."

He affirmed that "we will take the necessary measures to preserve security when implementing the general amnesty law," emphasizing that "the state is proceeding with the file on the exclusivity of weapons."
