Aoun: Protecting Paramedics and Medical Teams Is an Obligation

President of the Republic Joseph Aoun stated that "Lebanon has passed through stages that are the harshest in its modern history."

Speaking during the opening of the 12th Regional Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in the Middle East and North Africa, he said: "In war, your role goes beyond responding to emergencies to include delivering humanitarian aid to dangerous areas, contributing to the issue of prisoners, and coordinating rescue and ambulance teams with the Lebanese Army, UNIFIL, and the Monitoring Mechanism for Ceasefire Violations."

Aoun stressed that "protecting paramedics and medical teams and ensuring their safe access to those who need them is not a choice but a legal and humanitarian obligation."

He noted that "the Lebanese Red Cross is a model for the institutions we aspire to," urging Lebanese citizens to stand alongside the Lebanese Red Cross as it has always stood by them.
