Basil: We Succeeded in Limiting the General Amnesty Disaster
Lebanese Free Patriotic Movement leader Gebran Bassil stated that the Constitutional Council's partial annulment and interpretive reservations helped mitigate the disaster of the general amnesty law, protecting victims' rights and financial integrity.

Gebran Bassil, head of the "Free Patriotic Movement" and MP, wrote on "X": "The Constitutional Council succeeded with its partial annulment and interpretive reservations, where the Parliamentary Council criminalized [the act], and we succeeded with it in limiting the disaster of the general amnesty and addressing many issues such as excluding financial corruption, respecting the rights of victims' families and army martyrs, and acquitting wronged Islamists. It was our honor to confront [this issue], so Lebanon gained justice, albeit incomplete."
