Calls for Protests Over Appeal Against Amnesty Law
A central demonstration is planned in Tripoli's Nur Square on Sunday after Asr prayer to support the Romieh prisoners' strike and protest the appeal against the general amnesty law.

Committee of Prisoners' Families called for a central demonstration in Nur Square in the city of Tripoli on Sunday after Asr prayer "in support of the Romieh prisoners' strike and in condemnation of the appeal filed against the general amnesty law."
In a statement, the Committee said: "The insistence on perpetuating injustice through challenging the general amnesty law targets nothing but undermining all recent efforts to close the chapter of the past and open the door to genuine, comprehensive societal reconciliation."

It added: "Those who have championed and nurtured this appeal today bear direct responsibility for delaying the release of our children and leaving them to face destruction under conditions of detention that are tragic and inhumane, lacking even the most basic elements of life."
