The Choueifat Municipality has called on the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to urgently address the critical shortage of teachers in public schools resulting from decisions to suspend contracts.

The Choueifat Municipality issued the following statement:
The Choueifat Municipality appeals to the Minister of Education and Higher Education, as well as officials at the General Directorate of Education and the Secondary Education Directorate, to take initiative in addressing the significant shortage of teachers in the city's official schools and secondary institutes. This shortage stems from the decision to halt the employment of a number of contracted teachers and reduce their numbers. The municipality calls for a review of the repercussions of these measures and for securing the necessary teaching staff urgently, ensuring regular instruction and curriculum completion, safeguarding students' right to education, and preventing any impact on their academic year.
The municipality affirms that supporting official education is a fundamental priority in its work, based on its role in providing fair educational opportunities for the city's residents and alleviating burdens on their families. It expresses its readiness to provide all possible support within its powers and capabilities, and to cooperate with the Ministry of Education, school administrations, teaching bodies, and parents' committees to help overcome difficulties and stand by the official school, ensuring its continuity and the quality of education it provides.
