Axios reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US President Donald Trump that the Israeli response to Hezbollah attacks would have to be increased.
As Axios quoted Lebanese and Israeli officials expressing concern over the collapse of the truce before its scheduled end in May, the site reported that "America asked Israel to exercise restraint and allow space for diplomacy with Lebanon."
It also quoted American officials as saying that "Hezbollah is trying to derail the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon and tarnish the image of the Lebanese government."
