Extraordinary meeting between Army Commander and Head of the "Mechanism" Committee

Army Commander General Rudolf Heikel and the Head of the Supervisory Committee for the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement - the Mechanism, U.S. General Joseph Clearfield, held an extraordinary meeting at Beirut Air Base.

The extraordinary meeting came as a result of a quick visit by Clearfield and discussed the security situation in Lebanon, regional developments, and ways to maximize the benefit from the Mechanism and develop its work.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on "the importance of the army's role and the necessity of supporting it in the current phase."

General Clearfield departed Lebanese territory after the meeting.
