Finance Minister Yasin Jabber issued a decision numbered 1/751 dated August 28, 2026, concerning the suspension of validity of several legal and contractual deadlines, particularly those related to real estate transactions.

The decision suspends the validity of legal and contractual deadlines granted to individuals in both the public and private sectors during the period from March 1, 2026, to July 31, 2026, including formal and procedural deadlines as well as those extended to the basis of rights, with such deadlines resuming their validity starting August 1, 2026, according to the provisions specified in the decision.

The decision specifically includes deadlines related to non-Lebanese ownership of real property rights, declaration of new constructions, priority registration in the real estate registry, provisional encumbrances recorded in land registers, and certain deadlines stipulated in the Public Housing Authority Law.

The decision clarifies that deadlines which had already expired before March 1, 2026, are not eligible for suspension, whereas those still in effect are covered by its provisions and must be completed according to the rules specified in the decision.
