France Urges Israel to Immediately Halt Military Actions in Lebanon
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot called on Israel to stop its military operations in Lebanon immediately to prevent further escalation and humanitarian consequences.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot demanded that Israel immediately cease its military operations in Lebanon to avoid further escalation and its humanitarian and regional repercussions.
Barrot stated on Friday, as reported by Reuters, that efforts continue to organize an international conference aimed at supporting the Lebanese army and providing it with necessary assistance.
The minister emphasized the importance of the United States exerting pressure on Israel to halt its hostile actions in Lebanon.
This French stance follows an increase in Israeli military and political activity in Lebanon amid a preliminary agreement signed by Washington and Tehran on a memorandum of understanding that includes Beirut.
The Israeli army conducted airstrikes and drone attacks targeting vehicles and areas in Nabatieh Governorate and southern Lebanon, resulting in 16 deaths and additional injuries within the past 24 hours.
Earlier, on Wednesday, French Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pascal Confavreux stressed the need to stop the escalation between Israel and Hezbollah, urging both sides to refrain from any military actions that could threaten stability along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
Confavreux also noted that the agreement between the United States and Iran covers Lebanon as well, referencing Pakistan’s announcement that the ongoing understandings between Washington and Tehran include provisions related to the Lebanese arena.
