The Media Office of the Ministry of Public Health issued the following statement:

“Contrary to circulating reports, the Ministry, pursuant to the decision issued by Minister Rakan Nasser Al-Din, continues to provide full coverage for emergency and hospitalization services to all uninsured Lebanese, whether displaced from their towns and villages or not. This coverage is at 100% in public hospitals and in a number of private hospitals that have agreed to the fair medical ceiling set by the Ministry (attached is a list of these hospitals).

The Ministry emphasizes that the coverage applied to uninsured displaced persons equally applies to other uninsured Lebanese who are not displaced, with no exceptions or discrimination whatsoever. Reports being leaked or circulated on this matter are either fabricated or inaccurate. Evidence of this is that the majority of beneficiaries from the coverage decision were recorded in hospitals in the North and Akkar governorates.

It should be clarified that the coverage decision includes all emergency cases as well as a specified number of hospitalization cases, but not all cases.

We remind the public of the hotline 1787 for inquiries during working hours regarding any questions.”
