Hikma for the Forgotten: Never and Never Will Families of Martyrs Be Abandoned... Nor Any Sect Among Those Wearing the Striped Uniform

Defense Minister Lieutenant General Michel Mounsi received Army Commander General Rudolph Hikma at his office in Yarze today, accompanied by a delegation including members of the military council and senior officers from the Army Command, on a visit to thank the National Defense Minister for his supportive stance toward the military institution and to express appreciation for his positions regarding army martyrs and their families.

General Hikma addressed Lieutenant General Mounsi saying: "Never and never will we abandon the families of the martyrs; you have raised our heads and raised the head of the army," in response to the National Defense Minister's statement earlier that day. The Army Commander continued, clarifying that the military institution’s goals are national, based on protecting Lebanon and safeguarding its security and stability. He stressed that "there is no sect among those who wear the striped uniform."

On his part, Lieutenant General Mounsi affirmed that "the army is the vital nerve of the state," emphasizing that the military institution remains steadfast in its position and will not retreat from fulfilling its duties or making sacrifices for the nation. He added: "God willing, we will remain united, and through our resilience, we shall achieve much," calling for strengthening unity within the military institution and preserving its national role.

National Defense Minister praised the efforts of the Army Command, its officers, and soldiers, led by General Hikma, affirming that the current phase demands greater cohesion and cooperation within the military institution, enabling it to continue fulfilling its national duties and protecting Lebanon.
