The Defense, Interior and Municipalities Committee held a session chaired by MP Jihad Al-Sammad, attended by Minister of Defense Major General Michel Menassa, Minister of Interior Brigadier General Ahmad Al-Hajjar, member MPs, and representatives from relevant administrations.

MP Al-Sammad said after the session: "The Defense, Interior and Municipalities Committee held a session today, in the presence of the Ministers of Interior and Defense, Director General of Finance Georges Maawrawi representing the Ministry of Finance (as the minister is traveling), a representative from Civil Defense, the Director General of Municipalities, and representatives from the Internal Security Forces and the Army Command."

He added: "The agenda included several items. The first was a draft law aimed at separating the village of Dabaa - Qzahya - Miniyeh-Danniyeh District - North Governorate. This project provides significant relief. For the first time, a municipality is being established in this town, and there was an obstructing point regarding the municipality exercising its duties."

"As for the second item, it is a proposed law aimed at promoting licensed sergeants with law degrees in the Internal Security Forces for the year 2011. It was postponed to a future session for further study; it was submitted by colleague Ashraf Baydoun."

"As for the third item, it is a draft law aimed at amending Article 78 of Law No. 144/9019, i.e., the General Budget and Attached Budgets for 2019. It was approved as received from the government."

"As for the proposed law aimed at establishing a real estate zone for the municipalities of Saadiyat, the Director General of Real Estate Affairs was present and attended with us. A table of properties belonging to this town was prepared, but it required completion. We requested that the Director of Real Estate Affairs coordinate with the Director General of Municipalities to complete the file within one month and return it to the committee to proceed with it and approve it."

Al-Sammad concluded: "There are two proposals related to Civil Defense that were discussed. The Civil Defense representative was asked to prepare the clarifications requested in the committee and return them within one month from today."
