Committee of Hourly Contracted Professors at the Lebanese University: The Full-Time Appointment File Has Reached the Prime Minister's Office

Issued by the Committee of Hourly Contracted Professors at the Lebanese University the following statement:

The Committee of Hourly Contracted Professors at the Lebanese University announces that it has taken note of the submission of the file of full-time appointments for professors by Her Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education to His Excellency the Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, after its preparation was completed.

While the Committee appreciates this step, it considers that it requires immediate completion, as the file has now come under the custody of the Prime Minister's office, and therefore the national responsibility necessitates placing it on the agenda of the Council of Ministers.

Accordingly, the Committee addresses His Excellency the Prime Minister, requesting him to include the file of full-time appointments for hourly contracted professors at the Lebanese University on the agenda of the next government session, and to discuss and approve it without any further delay or postponement.

The professors have waited long enough, promises and entitlements have accumulated, and it is no longer acceptable for a file of this magnitude, directly linked to the stability and academic future of the Lebanese University, to remain outside the agenda of the Council of Ministers.
