Finance Minister Yassine Jaber traveled from Istanbul to Cairo to participate in the events of the "Cairo ICT 2026" exhibition and conference, at the invitation of the Egyptian Ministry of Finance and the "e-finance" group. The aim is to enhance cooperation between Lebanon and Egypt and transfer expertise in modernizing public finance and digital transformation, as part of a trend towards strengthening regional partnerships that support reform and economic integration.

Jaber will hold a bilateral meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Kouchouk, and will join him in a ministerial seminar addressing public finance reform, the modernization of tax and customs administrations, the development of treasury and payment systems, and leveraging data and artificial intelligence to improve collection and services provided to citizens. The two ministers will also discuss establishing an institutional cooperation framework between the two ministries and activating the agreement to avoid double taxation.

Accompanying him to Cairo to participate in the conference events were Director General of Finance George Maawad, Minister Jaber's Advisor for Revenue Reform Claudine Kerki, and Media Advisor Rima Farah.

The visit includes working meetings with budget officials at the Egyptian Ministry of Finance and the "e-finance" team, to discuss cooperation priorities and practical follow-up steps.

Minister Jaber will deliver two speeches: the first during the ministerial seminar and the second at the exhibition's official dinner gala. "Sawt Al-Maliya," the official digital platform of the Ministry of Finance, will provide full coverage of the participation and broadcast Minister Jaber's two speeches within its media packages via its YouTube account and other social media platforms.
