Interior Minister Emphasizes Ongoing Efforts to Combat Drug Trafficking and Export

Interior Minister Ahmed Al-Hajjar convened a meeting at his office attended by Major General Raed Abdullah, Director General of the Internal Security Forces; Brigadier General Sami Nassif, Secretary of the Central Internal Security Council; Brigadier General Ezzat Al-Khatib, Commander of the Rafic Hariri International Airport Detachment within the Internal Security Forces; Brigadier General Mahmoud Qabrosli, Head of the Information Branch at the Internal Security Forces; and Colonel Ayman Mashmoshi, Head of the Central Anti-Drug Office at the Internal Security Forces.

The meeting focused on evaluating the measures taken so far in combating drug trafficking and discussing mechanisms to improve coordination among the relevant security agencies. The aim was to ensure the strengthening of procedures and intensify proactive efforts to fight drug trafficking, uncover smuggling networks, and dismantle them.

Minister Al-Hajjar emphasized the continuation of efforts to combat this scourge in order to protect Lebanese society and prevent the export of drugs abroad, particularly to the Gulf countries. He confirmed the adoption of the highest levels of coordination among the concerned agencies to achieve these objectives.

Additionally, Al-Hajjar received MP Raji Al-Saad and later MP Inaya Ezzeddine, discussing with each the general situation in the country and matters related to their respective constituencies.

The minister also met with Tariq Shaaban, Mayor of Shheem, along with members of the municipal council, where they discussed developmental and service-related issues concerning the town.
