Israeli military Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir vowed on Wednesday to target sites belonging to the Hezbollah militia north of the Litani River and outside what is known as the "Yellow Line", during a visit to areas occupied by his forces in southern Lebanon, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Zamir said, according to a military statement issued after his visit to forces deployed within the "security zone" that Israel maintains in southern Lebanon, that "any threat, anywhere, against our communities or our forces, including beyond the Yellow Line and north of the Litani, will be eliminated."
According to what the Israeli website "Ynet" reported, Zamir indicated that Hezbollah draws its strength from Iran, stating: "We have struck Iran forcefully. We have destroyed most components of the defense industries in Iran - including factories that produce weapons for Hezbollah."
He added: "We have achieved everything that the political leadership set for us regarding the current campaign in Iran and Lebanon, and we have even exceeded that. By doing so, we have prepared the operational conditions for the operations currently led by the political leadership," he said.
