Israel's Defense Minister Calls Lebanon Agreement a Political and Security Achievement

Israel's Defense Minister Yisrael Katz described the agreement signed yesterday with Lebanon as a historic event and a political and security achievement for Israel. He noted that the accord establishes a new and safer reality along the border and represents a setback for the Iranian axis.

Katz stated, "The future of Lebanon will no longer be decided by Iran or Hezbollah." He emphasized that the security zone in Lebanon will remain free of residents and Hezbollah infrastructure, and affirmed Israel's commitment to maintaining freedom of operation for its forces in southern Lebanon. Katz also confirmed that Israel will not withdraw from Lebanon, including the Shebaa Farms area.
