Issa Al-Khouri: Reconstruction Is an Opportunity for Industry

Industry Minister Joe Issa Al-Khouri represented Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the opening of the 27th edition of Project Lebanon, organized by International Fairs (IFP), attended by a gathering of official, economic, and industrial figures, with more than 200 exhibitors participating.

He stated that "organizing this fair today comes at a pivotal stage for Lebanon, as reconstruction is no longer just an economic sector but has become a national priority, given the large number of villages and cities eager to restore life and rise again. These areas need reconstruction and modernization of their infrastructure, from electricity, water, and telecommunications networks to solar energy and other vital sectors."

Al-Khouri added: "When more than 200 exhibitors meet in Lebanon, it carries a clear message directed both domestically and internationally, confirming that Lebanon is ready to provide opportunities and prepared to receive investments. It also indicates that the world is present to be a partner in the path of reconstruction and investment in Lebanon," emphasizing "the necessity for the reconstruction phase to be a real opportunity for Lebanese industry, not an additional burden on the trade balance," reaffirming that "every product manufactured in Lebanon and sold within the Lebanese market contributes to creating new job opportunities for youth, enhancing their ability to stay and work in Lebanon, who are the primary differential advantage of the Lebanese economy."

He congratulated IFP, its chairman, and its general manager Albert Aoun on organizing this fair in its 27th edition, praising "the continuity and effort they exert in support of the reconstruction path in Lebanon and supporting Lebanese economic sectors."
