Customs Directorate continues its intensified operations to combat smuggling and illegal evasion of all types of goods entering Lebanon through illicit means. A team from the Anti-Smuggling Unit carried out three operations in Tripoli, Beirut, and Al-Manniyeh, resulting in the seizure of large quantities of smuggled tobacco products and the arrest of several individuals involved.

In Tripoli, after surveillance and monitoring operations, the team raided a warehouse and several hidden storage compartments used for concealing tobacco products. A significant quantity of smuggled tobacco and cigarettes was seized, the goods were confiscated, and the owner was taken to the specialized center to initiate necessary legal procedures.

In Beirut, the team stopped a vehicle and conducted a search, discovering a large amount of smuggled cigarettes and electronic cigarettes inside. The contraband was seized, and the driver was taken to the specialized center for legal action.

In Al-Manniyeh, based on intelligence about a vehicle transporting smuggled tobacco, the team pursued and successfully intercepted it. The smuggled goods were seized, and the suspects were taken to the specialized center under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities to proceed with legal measures.
