Laundes on the 41st Anniversary of the Establishment of Internal Security: Challenges as Motivation for Greater Effort and Sacrifice

"In commemoration of the 41st anniversary of the establishment of the General Directorate of Internal Security, a symbolic military ceremony was held at the headquarters building, attended by several officers and military personnel.

General Director of Internal Security, Brigadier General Edkar Laundes, in his general order to the military personnel, stressed that this anniversary comes at a critical security phase where Lebanon faces significant challenges and risks, calling for greater effort and sacrifice, raising performance to meet the aspirations of the nation, and safeguarding the state, its institutions, and its dignity.

At this occasion, Brigadier General Laundes remembered with deep respect the martyrs of the Directorate who gave their lives for the homeland, affirming that their sacrifices will remain a guiding light illuminating the path of the institution, and reiterating the pledge to continue carrying the trust they died for with full loyalty and devotion.

He emphasized that one of the foremost responsibilities entrusted to Internal Security is ensuring proper enforcement of laws, combating corruption, bribery, and fraud in public administrations, underlining that achievements made during the past period are the result of persistent work, high professionalism, and unwavering discipline.

He also affirmed that developing the institution and keeping pace with scientific and technological advancements constitute essential challenges in the coming phase, stressing the importance of competence, merit, and a sense of responsibility, and asserting that the interests of the institution and the country must always come above all else.

He called on military personnel to continue their mission with steadfastness and determination, affirming that the challenges faced by the institution have never been a reason for retreat, but rather an additional motivation to work harder and with greater resolve, and that Internal Security remains committed to fulfilling its national duty regardless of how difficult the circumstances may become.

Brigadier General Laundes concluded by reaffirming that the Directorate’s journey will continue based on loyalty to the martyrs, adherence to the oath, service to Lebanon, and protection of its security and stability, emphasizing that safeguarding the state is not merely a responsibility, but a sacred trust upheld through sacrifice, discipline, and dedicated work.
