Salam Receives Lawands to Follow Up on Measures Against Food Fraud and Poisoning

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received the Director General of State Security, Major General Edgar Lawands, at the Grand Serail, in a meeting dedicated to following up on the procedures discussed during the emergency meeting held yesterday regarding cases of food poisoning and suspicions of fraud in food products.

The discussion focused on the role of the Directorate General of State Security, particularly in uncovering violations and suspicions of fraud in food products, in coordination with the Lebanese Food Safety Authority, relevant ministries, and administrations, under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, ensuring enhanced oversight of food safety and protection of public health.
