Lebanese Army: Arrests and Confiscation of Military Weapons in Multiple Areas

Units of the army carried out extensive security measures in various Lebanese regions, including search operations and temporary checkpoints as part of efforts to pursue individuals threatening public security and combat drug trafficking, leading to the arrest of 8 Lebanese citizens and 41 Syrians, as follows:

• The arrest of citizens (ع.ش.) and (ع.ي.) and (ع.م.) and (ز.ز.) and (ح.م.) in the towns of Al-Khadra and Tlaya – Baalbek, and the arrest of Syrians (ع.م.) and (ع.ر.م.) in Qaa projects – Hermel for firing shots. Military weapons and ammunition were seized from them.

• The arrest of two citizens (ر.ب.) and (ي.ص.) in the areas of Mieftouh - Jbeil and Tel - Tripoli for possessing military weapons.

• The arrest of citizen (ع.ز.) in the Lilaki area – Beaida for firing shots and forming an armed gang involved in acts of intimidation, fraud, and impersonating security personnel.

• The arrest of 39 Syrians in the areas of Younine - Baalbek, Nahr al-Safa - Chouf, Shadra, and Wadi Khalid - Akkar for traveling within Lebanese territory without legal documents.

The seized items were handed over, and investigations into the arrested individuals have commenced under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
