Lebanese Foreign Minister Urges Diaspora Support to Boost National Progress

Youssef Reggi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, met with a delegation from the Lebanese Cultural University Worldwide, led by Fares Wahbe and accompanied by Dr. Ziad Al-Sayegh, Executive Director of the Civil Impact Forum. The meeting addressed various issues concerning Lebanese expatriates globally.

During the session, the university president expressed gratitude to Minister Reggi for his diligent attention to expatriate matters since assuming the foreign ministry portfolio. He emphasized that the delegation's visit to Lebanon aimed to engage with officials on the country's "next day" and explore how the Lebanese diaspora can contribute to preparing for the nation's stability and economic revival.

Minister Reggi, in turn, thanked the Lebanese Cultural University Worldwide for its efforts and support toward Lebanon, affirming that "through the unity and assistance of all Lebanese expatriates, much can be accomplished on the path to national advancement."

The delegation also raised the topic of parliamentary elections, expressing hope for their prompt resumption and reaffirming the demand to elect 128 deputies, each representing their respective electoral district. In response, Minister Reggi confirmed that "the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has campaigned for this demand, which it regards as a fundamental right for expatriates," stressing that he "will work again to achieve it once discussions on parliamentary elections resume and will continue to advocate for its implementation."
