On the sidelines of his participation in the 22nd session of the "Manama Dialogue – Regional Security Summit," Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Joseph Rajji held a meeting with his Bahraini counterpart, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, during which they reviewed the general situation in Lebanon and the region.

Rajji thanked Bahrain for its gracious hosting, affirming "Lebanon's stance, government and people, alongside it in facing any aggression targeting its territory," and reiterating "his condemnation of the attacks that targeted Manama."

He outlined the "political and security developments in Lebanon, and the efforts being made by the government to consolidate stability and activate the role of institutions," stressing the "firm position of the state in safeguarding its sovereignty, restricting weapons to its legitimate institutions, and extending its authority over all its territories."

He also informed his Bahraini counterpart about the "course of direct negotiations with Israel," reaffirming that "the framework agreement helped reduce attacks and neutralize Beirut, but Israel has not committed to withdrawal, while Hezbollah refuses to hand over its weapons."

For his part, Al-Zayani affirmed the "importance of Lebanon's stability, which holds a place in every Bahraini heart," expressing his hope for the "return of bilateral relations to their former status."

In this context, Rajji appreciated the "step of opening a Bahraini embassy in Beirut last November," wishing for the "appointment of a new ambassador as soon as possible."

He also expressed hope for "Bahrain's approval to resume the direct air line between the two countries, starting with commercial air cargo, and facilitating entry visas for Lebanese citizens wishing to visit Manama."
