Lebanese Kataeb Party Demands Dismantling of Hezbollah's System
The Lebanese Kataeb Party has called for the immediate dismantling of Hezbollah's security and military apparatus, citing recent explosives seizures and demands to enforce state authority over all Lebanese territory.

The Kataeb Political Bureau held its regular meeting chaired by party leader MP Samy Gemayel. It began by commemorating "the martyrs Danny Chamoun and the former Director General of Internal Security Forces, Brigadier General martyr Wissam al-Hassan, on the anniversary of their assassinations, especially since Hassan was at the forefront of those who confronted the transfer of explosives and terrorist plots targeting Lebanon."
After discussing developments, the Political Bureau stated that "seizing the latest shipment of explosives and the adoption of responsibility by MPs affiliated with 'Hezbollah' necessitates that the state take measures and decisions required to protect security and stability, and to punish those involved and their superiors."
It renewed the demand to "immediately refer the file to the Judicial Council" and praised the efforts of the Minister of Justice to achieve this goal.
The Political Bureau demanded that the government, in light of "Hezbollah's" attempts to defy Lebanese state decisions, "take a decisive step to implement its decisions regarding the ban on Hezbollah's security and military activities, immediately begin confiscating weapons and explosives depots, and impose the authority of the army and legitimate forces over all Lebanese territories," warning against any "attempt to drag Lebanon again into any new support war," and demanding the state "prevent the use of Lebanon as a platform serving Tehran, and take all necessary political, security, and legal measures to prevent a recurrence of displacement and destruction."
It noted the "expansion of the illegal economy protected by Hezbollah's militia into sectors directly affecting Lebanese lives, reaching the health sector, where the parallel economy becomes a danger to people's lives through counterfeit medicine, just as it is dangerous through weapons."
The Political Bureau also addressed "Hezbollah's" payment of housing allowances, considering that "this practice is open funding for displacement and entrenching its results, raising the most serious suspicions about an attempt to engineer demographic change and prepare for further destruction and displacement."
It warned the government against "leaving Lebanon hostage to this reality, stating that what is required today is not managing its repercussions or normalizing with it, but ending it by concluding the state of war with Israel and achieving its withdrawal from Lebanese territories, returning displaced persons to their towns, alongside their reconstruction."
