The Kataeb Political Bureau held its regular meeting chaired by party leader MP Samy Gemayel, discussing recent developments. The session began with a tribute to the Lebanese Army martyrs who fell on October 13, 1990, defending Lebanon's sovereignty and independence. Following discussions, the Bureau issued a statement noting that "the seizure of a shipment of weapons and explosives in flagrante delicto, and the admission by a Hezbollah MP that it belongs to the party, places direct political responsibility on the party for this shipment, and puts the state before its responsibility to handle it as a case affecting national security and civil peace."

The Political Bureau affirmed that "this admission cannot remain without consequences," supporting the Justice Minister's request to refer the explosives file with all its criminal elements to the Supreme Council immediately to determine the shipment's destination and the responsibility of those behind it, in order to take appropriate decisions according to legal procedures.

It also demanded that the government be aware of the stage's dangers and implement its decisions prohibiting Hezbollah's security and military activities, establishing clear and immediate mechanisms to dismantle its security and military apparatus to disarm it.

The Political Bureau rejected "burdening Lebanese citizens with the crisis's burdens," demanding tax and fee reductions, controlling state costs, and restoring resources through serious administrative reform, approving final accounts, combating tax evasion and smuggling, eliminating the informal economy, and expanding the revenue base through effective and fair collection and restoring state rights.

The Bureau warned against "exploiting social tension to undermine the sovereign path initiated by the government and the presidency," affirming that "protecting social stability is achieved by reforming the state, enforcing the law, and restoring its resources, not by retreating from reclaiming its decision-making and sovereignty."
