Lebanese MP Kanaan Meets US Ambassador to Discuss Negotiations, Financial Reforms, and Army Support
MP Ibrahim Kanaan met with US Ambassador Michel Aoun to discuss ongoing negotiations, financial reforms, and support for the Lebanese army.

Member of Parliament Ibrahim Kanaan, head of the Finance and Budget Committee, received the US Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Aoun, at his residence in Al-Biyada. Their meeting lasted over an hour and a half, during which they reviewed current developments in Lebanon and the region.
The discussion focused notably on the ongoing negotiation process in Washington, emphasizing its significance for Lebanon in achieving a ceasefire, restoring sovereignty and stability, and creating the conditions necessary to initiate reconstruction efforts.
The talks also addressed the financial and economic reform agenda aimed at bolstering confidence in Lebanon, ensuring the foundations for economic and financial recovery, safeguarding depositors' rights, and restoring order to the financial sector.
Additionally, the meeting covered the importance of supporting the Lebanese army and enabling it to fulfill its assigned duties. This support is intended to help consolidate the Lebanese state's presence throughout its territory and strengthen its authority, in line with the implementation of relevant decisions on this matter.
