President Joseph Aoun received a phone call this evening from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, during which they discussed the current situation in Lebanon and the region in light of recent developments.

In the conversation, Secretary Rubio affirmed the United States' support for Lebanon, emphasizing efforts to achieve security and stability, extend state authority across all Lebanese territory, and back its legitimate, security, and military institutions, foremost among them the army.

President Aoun expressed gratitude to the US Secretary for his country's support of Lebanon, stressing the necessity of halting Israeli attacks on Lebanese lands by establishing a comprehensive ceasefire. He described this ceasefire as a fundamental pillar for advancing the scheduled Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations in Washington next week, aimed at restoring Lebanon's security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
