Lebanese doctors completed a precise 11-hour surgery restoring hand function for the first time in the country, according to Professor Youssef Bakhach.

Professor Youssef Bakhach stated that they informed the President of the Republic about a medical achievement realized in Lebanon for the first time, involving a precise surgical procedure on a patient who suffered a severe injury resulting in the loss of normal hand function.
Following a meeting with President Joseph Aoun and a delegation of doctors from the American University Hospital at the Presidential Palace in Baabda, Bakhach announced that the operation lasted approximately 11 continuous hours under a surgical microscope due to the high level of precision required.
He emphasized that this accomplishment was presented to the President and the Lebanese people as evidence that the Lebanese medical sector, despite all security, economic, and financial challenges, remains capable of innovation and providing the latest medical technologies and treatments within Lebanon and the Arab region.
