The National Litani River Authority announced "that it has detected serious environmental and construction violations on the riverbank in the Al-Jazira-Al-Qasmiyya area, characterized by excessive cutting of a large number of trees, damage to green cover, and conversion of parts of the site into barren land."

In a statement, it pointed out "that it observed additional violations committed by the owner of the 'Cesar' rest house, Ali al-Fariss, involving pouring concrete within the public river property and riverbank area, constituting unlawful occupation and infringement on public domain."

The Authority noted "that it has enlisted the assistance of competent security forces to take necessary legal actions, remove the violations, confiscate firewood resulting from tree cutting, halt ongoing illegal works, and refer those responsible to the appropriate judicial authorities."

It affirmed "that it will continue removing all newly established violations on the Litani River bank, and will not tolerate any exploitation of security conditions in the south to encroach upon public river properties, forest resources, and the environment."
