Lebanon's Minister of Labor, Mohammad Haidar, has issued a decision extending the deadline for regularizing the status of foreign workers until December 31, 2026.

Minister of Labor Mohammad Haidar issued a decision today stating: "Based on Decision No. 157/1 dated 16/11/2025 (Regularization of Violators of the Decree Regulating the Work of Foreigners), and given the demands from several economic sectors, which affirmed their need to continue organizing foreign labor within their establishments, granting them a final grace period to enable them to regularize the status of such workers, and opening the field for those wishing to regularize their legal status who were unable to do so due to security and economic conditions.
In order to accommodate the remaining numbers who could not complete their transactions within the previously specified deadline due to high demand for regularization procedures, and since it is necessary to grant an additional and final opportunity to regularize the status of foreign nationals violating the decree regulating the work of foreigners, taking into account the prevailing circumstances, it is decided as follows:

Article Two: Those wishing to regularize their status may submit their applications either personally to the Ministry of Labor or via LibanPost mail.
Article Three: During the extension period specified in Article One of this decision, the Ministry of Labor will continue to conduct inspection campaigns on relevant institutions and employers, directing necessary observations to them with the aim of regularizing their status and that of the foreign workers employed by them in accordance with applicable laws. Stakeholders must commit to correcting violations and adhering to the observations within a maximum period of fifteen days from the date they are notified. In case of non-compliance with these observations within the specified period, necessary warnings shall be issued to violators according to appropriate legal procedures based on the nature of the violations and the provisions of effective laws and regulations."
